A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I am healthcare designer with a background in biomedical engineering, health IT, and human-centered design. I recently graduated with an M.A. in Design focused on Health, and I’m looking for roles in product design and human factors starting this summer. What I bring is a unique blend of technical skills, systems thinking and empathy. I’m comfortable in the ambiguity, asking hard questions, and iterating toward solutions that truly center the human experience.

MORE ABOUT MEI started out in biomedical engineering, drawn to the intersection of biology and technology. After graduating, I worked in wet labs, dabbled in data analytics, then pivoted into healthcare IT at Epic, where I helped healthcare systems across the US optimize their MyChart patient portals to fit their unique patient needs. That experience gave me a front-row seat to how clunky and impersonal healthcare systems can feel — especially for patients already under stress.

But what really pushed me toward health design was personal. A few years ago, I had a tumor — thankfully benign, but it required surgery and a lot of waiting and uncertainty. Around the same time, I was supporting family members through cancer. I saw up close how fragile and confusing those moments are — and how small design choices can either support or fail people in the middle of them.

That’s what I want to change. I want to design healthcare products and experiences that make people feel seen — especially those managing chronic conditions who deal with healthcare every day, not just in crisis.

I see myself working in Product Design or Human Factors Design at a mission-driven company that builds intuitive, empathetic tools in the healthcare space.

In my free time, I love to swim, play piano, and pick up new skills, like hand embroidery, jewelry design, and sculpting. I volunteer as a HAAMbassador with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. I also have a pet rabbit!
