PRODUCT DESIGN
FOR DERMATOLOGY

ABOUT THIS  PROJECT

Dr. Venessa Pena-Robichaux at the Ascension Seton Dermatology Clinic collaborated with our team at the M.A. Design focused on Health program at UT Austin to develop a prototype that helps manage the symptoms of Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) in order for patients to feel empowered to live their best lives.

Our team co-designed a flexible garment prototype for the axillae (underarm) that adapts to different body types and movement, offering a more supportive and empowering way to manage HS symptoms.

I faciliated usability studies with people living with HS, developed technical illustrations to communicate design decisions to the fabricator and stakeholders, and led stakeholder meetings to align on project progress.
